Honda Oem Exhaust Tips

Tips for your OEM Honda exhaust can make it look and sound better.

Honda exhaust systems generally come with relatively boring exhaust tips. However, the vibrant tuning community surrounding Honda cars has come up with numerous exhaust tips for the OEM system. These tips will tune the sound of the OEM exhaust tips, making them look and sound better.

Chrome Tips

Chrome tips are a popular option for Hondas. They come in a number of different shapes, including round, slashed (in which the tip is at an unusual angle), and turndown (the opening is turned down toward the ground). They start around $50 and can be attached to the original exhaust pipe with screws or welds.

Intercooled Tips

Borla offers intercooled tips for Hondas. These tips come in several shapes for different looks, but that isn't their biggest advantage. The intercooled tips have a center pipe and an outside pipe with a framework between them that helps tune the exhaust note. This means your engine will sound louder and more aggressive. The Y splits one exhaust pipe into two points and gives you two tips coming out at the rear, making the car look sportier and sound more aggressive. The larger size of the Y tip makes it more expensive, so you should expect to spend $150 or more for a quality Y tip for your Honda.

This tip has a rounded lip around the edge and is thicker than a regular exhaust tip. It helps make the engine note louder, although its primary function is for a more aggressive look. It makes the exhaust pipe look larger and sportier. Expect to spend about $40 to $60 on a rolled tip for your exhaust.

Full Mufflers

You can get a full muffler for your Honda as well as an exhaust tip. Changing the muffler can reduce back pressure in the exhaust system and increase horsepower and torque from the engine. A new muffler will cost at least $100 but you will have more control over the sound and style of your new exhaust.

Y Tip

If you want a dual exhaust look, use a Y tip. Budget $60 or more for your intercooled exhaust tip.

Rolled Tips

If you want a chunkier-looking tip, pick a rolled tip.
