There may come a clock when you demand to moderate your windshield-washer tubing on your midsize Ford Taurus. In circulation since 1986, the Taurus hasn't changed its wiper tubing style over the years. This inexpensive fix is easy enough to do, and you should find yourself on your way to wiping away any precipitation or dirt that comes across the windshield.
Instructions
1. Determine if your windshield-washer tubing is simply clogged. Occasionally the little holes on the ball of the sprayer become clogged from washer fluid build-up or from hard water. If you need help, ask for assistance at the store.3. Locate the old tubing, which is near the windshield-washer fluid reservoir.
Purchase windshield-washer tubing from a car parts store. The tubing might also be referred to as vacuum tubing. You don't need a specific part number. You wouldn't need to replace the tubing if this is the case. Simply use a pin or sewing needle to poke a hole to eliminate any debris.2.
This can be found beneath the engine coolant reservoir in the bottom left part of the engine compartment. If you own a Ford Taurus model made before 2008, the windshield-washer fluid reservoir is above the engine coolant reservoir, not below it.
4. Remove the old tubing. Be careful around the vacuum connectors. Try not to break or disfigure them if you plan to reuse them.
5. Hold up the old windshield-washer tubing if you plan to replace the entire section. Place the new tubing next to the old, using the old as a guide to the length you need. Use a hose cutter to cut enough of the new tubing to fit your Ford Taurus.
6. Place the new tubing into your Taurus. Use the old connectors, or insert the new ones, and ensure the tubing doesn't interfere with any other engine parts. When closing the hood, be extra cautious to make sure the tubing doesn't get bent.
