Take hold of the snow rake, which looks like a small snow shovel with a blade Four to Twelve inches high. Extend it to a point where you are comfortable and pull the snow toward you, pushing it away from the area you will be moving to next when you get it to the edge.5. Dismount the ladder after dropping the snow rake.

This will give you a decent and level surface to set up a ladder.

2. Set the ladder on one of the four corners of the trailer. By starting at the corners you will not be throwing the snow off to an area where you will have to place the ladder.

3. Climb the ladder, leaving a snow rake leaning against it. This will allow you to grab the snow rake when you reach the height of the ladder that will give you the best access to the area where you are working.
