The Beginning


Vic Edelbrock immigrated to California from Kansas in One thousand nine hundred thirty one to try to make a life for himself during the Great Depression.


The First Dyno

In 1948, Edelbrock purchased one of the first engine dynamometers ever produced, which allowed him to experiment with components designs to find out which one made the most power.

The Shop

Edelbrock opened his Wilshire Boulevard repair shop in 1934, and soon relocated to Los Angeles to expand his services.

The Manifold

Vic got his start in the automotive aftermarket when he manufactured an intake manifold for his personal One thousand nine hundred thirty two Ford project car. This was the basis for his very first offering, the Slingshot aluminum intake.




Edelbrock really made his name on the top speed racing of the Bonneville salt flats, where competitors were eager to buy parts from the guy who just beat them.


Products


Today, Edelbrock still produces award-winning intake manifolds, but he also produces everything from carburetors to superchargers to complete, pre-tuned "crate" engines making up to Seven hundred fifty horsepower. The company currently has Six hundred ninety one employees and does over $121 Million in business annually.
