4. Settle the jack underneath the axle and lift up the rear location again until it just lifts off of the stands. Unbolt the U-bolts securing the springs to the rear end with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Unbolt the lower control arms from the rear end with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.


5. Remove the jack stands from under the rear of the Jeep and lower the jack. Slide the jack out from under the rear end, taking the axle out with the jack.
