4. Apply a 1/4-inch bead of room-temperature-vulcanizing gasket sealer around the water ports on the mating surface of the engine. Lightly press an original-equipment-type steel shim manifold gasket over the RTV sealer on each side of the engine.
5. Lower the intake manifold onto the engine. Ensure the mounting holes in the manifold line up with the mounting holes in the cylinder heads on top of the engine. Thread all of the manifold retaining bolts in finger-tight.
6. Insert a socket onto a torque wrench. Tighten the intake manifold retaining bolts to Twenty five foot-pounds in the sequence indicated in the instructions that came with the intake manifold gaskets or a repair manual for your Three hundred four engine-equipped vehicle.
7. Connect the fuel line and throttle linkage to the carburetor and tighten the fittings with a wrench. Lower the air cleaner onto the threaded stud on top of the carburetor and secure it with the wing nut. Close the hood.
