Alter The Thermostat Within An Acura Integra

1. Adoption a jack and jack stands or rotate ramps to lift the front of your Integra. On the passenger side of the exhaust manifold is an opening. Allot a plastic remove plug down that opening.


2. Loosen the plug to bleed the coolant from the radiator and hoses into an obtain container. Provided the coolant is relatively modern and Disinfected, reuse it sequential.


3. Go next the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine block provided your Acura Integra was produced between One thousand nine hundred eighty six and 1994. For models built between One thousand nine hundred ninety four and 2001, displace the lower radiator hose.


4. Place the thermostat housing at the stop where the radiator hose meets the engine block. Remove the clamp from that bound of the hose and pull the hose off.


5. Unbolt the two 10mm bolts on either side of the thermostat housing and remove the housing cover. Seat the new thermostat and gasket in the housing in the exact same position as the old one. Scrape any rust or residue from the inside of the housing cover and replace. Tighten the bolts on the thermostat housing cover.


In an Acura Integra, it may be necessary to remove the top of the intake manifold to better access these bolts.6. Take out the old thermostat. Take note of the position of the thermostat.


7. Reattach radiator hose and add the reserved or new coolant. Run the engine, allow it to warm up, and then check for leaks.
