The Very Best Rims For Any Dodge Stealth

Although the One thousand nine hundred ninety one completed One thousand nine hundred ninety six Dodge Stealth shares every unmarried one of its mechanical components with the Mitsubishi 3000GT, it was never technically item of that legendary Chrysler/Mitsubishi amalgamation familiar as Diamond Star Motors ("DSM," for short). While a bit on the heavy side for a Japanese grand touring van, the Stealth/3000GT quickly developed a rabid fan example for both its performance and avante-garde good looks.

Enkei RZ-5

Racing Superleggera IIIWhen you need to step up to something you can throw around the track with utter confidence, then you'll need a good forged rim. Forged rims (those pounded into shape by a giant hammer) are much stronger than cast rims (which are poured into a mold). It's a little squared-off for the round and flowing Stealth, but some are sure to like the RZ-5 for its all-business good looks.

O.Z. Racing Ultraleggera HLT

If you have 13-inch brake rotors and absolutely have to roll on a fat set of dubs, then you may want to consider the 23-pound HLT. While $500 might seem a bit much to pay for a cast wheel, it's hard to argue with the HLT's good looks and fat 1-inch lip. Its Twelve spoke design is a bit less chunky than five and six spoke designs, and looks better against the bulky Stealth than more delicate Fourteen and Sixteen spoke rims.

O.Z.If you don't mind buying a cast aluminum wheel and have a set of big brakes to show off, then the five spoke RZ-5 might be for you. Coming in at around $165 each (as of March 2010), the RZ-5 is one of the more bargain-priced performance wheels out there. At Twenty six pounds, it's not the lightest on the market, but it is comparable to the O.Z. Racing Superleggera III, which costs five times as much.

The Superleggera III is a Twelve spoke, 1-inch lip beast of a wheel coming in at $835. While only available in bright silver, the Superleggera III's three piece construction ensures that you'll only need to replace its outer drum should a pothole damage the rim. It's a little on the heavy side for a rim in this price range (25.4 pounds), but it's worth it for the peace of mind.

BBS RE

If you've got $855 to spend and need a wheel made of pure anti-gravity, then this is the rim for your Stealth. While it lacks the three piece design and 1-inch lip of the similarly-priced Superleggera, it does come in about five pounds lighter. That light weight means you can use softer springs and shock settings for a better street ride and more recoverable handling while still maintaining the absolute handling limits of a harder setup.
