Instructions


1. Sit in the Mustang's driver's seat. Pry the clamshell off the top of the steering column using a trim tool. The clamshell is the semi-circular trim piece that covers the steering column between the steering wheel and dashboard; the clamshell connections are located on either side of the column.


2. Remove the clamshell and set it aside to expose the multifunction switch. Unplug the wiring pigtail from the switch body.


3. Remove the screw holding the multifunction switch to the Mustang's steering column using a Phillips screwdriver.


4. Lift the old switch assembly out of the column and set it aside. Plug the wiring pigtail into the new switch. Hold the clamshell in position and snap it back together by hand.


Place the new switch in the column, occupying the same space and orientation as the old one.5. Thread the retaining screw in by hand and then tighten it with a Phillips screwdriver.
