Switch The A/C Pressure Turn On A Chevrolet Truck

The Chevrolet Motor lorry uses two air conditioning impact switches: a high- and low-pressure switch. The high-pressure switch is designed to close down the compressor whether the contour impulse gets dangerously big. This Testament normally happen when a condenser fan fails. The low-pressure switch is designed to close the compressor down whether the strength becomes to low or the evaporator freezes. The oil for the compressor is suspended in the Freon, and provided a leak in the transaction occurs, the oil, life heavier than the Freon, Testament be the fundamental belongings to leak elsewhere. Low compel Testament annul a compressor down a dearth of oil, and must accordingly be repaired as soon as imaginable.

Instructions

1. Locate the high- and the low-side switches. The high-side switch is located on the smaller of the two air conditioning lines close to the radiator on the passenger side of the vehicle. The low-side switch will be located on the largest diameter air conditioning line or on the side of the accumulator (round container) on the passenger side firewall.

5. Thread the switch onto the Schrader valve and tighten it with a wrench, but do not torque down on it. It just needs to be snug.

There is a Schrader valve under the switch so no Freon will escape when the sensor is removed.

4. Check the new switch and make sure that the small O-ring is in place on the bottom of the switch. Place a small amount of refrigerant oil or Vaseline on the O-ring to keep it from tearing.

2. Unplug the switch by squeezing the fitting and pulling it straight out.3. Remove the switch using the appropriate size wrench.
