Whether you develop into disabled while a local of Connecticut or motion there when already disabled, you may operate for disabled parking permits. Disabled parking is permitted with either disability license plates or disabled parking placards. Your disability must be similar to those disabilities defined by Connecticut law, and a physician must certify the nature of the disability.
Instructions
1. An optometrist can make the certification if the disability is blindness.5. Take the completed application to a Connecticut DMV Full Service Branch Office or Satellite Office for processing and issuance of permits or plates. If you prefer to mail the application, send it to the DMV Handicapped Unit at the address in the instructions.
If not, the site will direct you to the DMV forms order page where you request a form by mail.
3. Complete the applicant information on Part A of the form.
4. Give the application to your physician for completion of Part B. Your doctor will certify the nature of your disability, such as an impaired ability to walk or blindness, and classify it as a permanent disability or as a temporary disability. Establish that your disability adheres to the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) rules and regulations for obtaining a disabled parking permit.2. Check to see if the permit application Form B-225 is available for download from the Connecticut DMV website.
There is no fee for obtaining the disability parking permits.
