Doityourself Muffler Installation Inside A Toyota Corolla

The muffler is valuable to your Corolla's exhaust method, for both pollution and caterwauling polity. A fully functioning muffler is required by constitution. The muffler goes from the catalytic converter to the exhaust tailpipe at the rear of the van. Installing a muffler on your Corolla depends primarily on whether the muffler has the tailpipe attached or not, on the other hand it is coincidental to installation on nearly every other vehicle. The biggest discrepancy is the absence of underneath clearance compared to larger vehicles.

Instructions

1. Lift the rear location of your Corolla with a jack and base it on jack stands.

2. Slip new rubber hangers onto the studs in the vicinity of the muffler's mounting location on the chassis.

3.7. Raise your Corolla with the jack, remove the jack stands and lower it to the ground.

5. Mount the exhaust pipe -- if it is not already connected to the muffler -- and connect the exhaust pipe to the muffler with its fasteners.

6. Fasten the muffler at the rear end to the rubber hangers with an Allen wrench.

Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the muffler's mounting fasteners.4. Install the muffler into its mounting brackets and connect it to the catalytic converter -- the next component close to the front end of the vehicle -- with the mounting fasteners and a wrench.
