Remove the Oil Pump

Install the New Oil Pump


6. Insert your new oil pump and install the oil pump gears and the oil pump cover. You want to tighten the bolts to Fifty three in-lb. Connect the oil pressure relief valve and tighten its plug to Thirty ft-lb.


7. Reassemble the front engine cover by installing the front cover gasket, cover and cover-to-engine bolts.


8. Install the water pump-to-front cover bolts and tighten all the bolts to Fifteen ft-lb. After this, put on the drive belt tensioner and tighten that bolt to Thirty three ft-lb. Put the crankshaft balancer and bolt on.


9. Grab the crankshaft holding tool J 38122-A once again to keep the crankshaft from rotating while you tighten the new crankshaft balancer bolt to Seventy four ft-lb plus Seventy five degrees.


10. Put the engine splash shield, the drive belt and the front wheel back on. Start the engine and check for leaks on the parts you installed.
