Diesel Exhaust

Diesel engines convert more fuel force into mechanical coercion than gasoline engines.


Diesel engines refer to a type of internal combustion engine that uses the heat of compression to initiate ignition to burn fuel. Diesel engines offer a different level of performance over other internal combustion engine systems.


Diesel Engine


The diesel engine was originally used as a more efficient replacement to the steam engine. Diesel engines offer a high thermal efficiency due to their high compression ratio. Compression ratio refers to a value that represents the ratio of combustion chamber volume from highest capacity to lowest capacity.


Performance Features


Due to the higher temperature of combustion produced by diesel engine systems, diesel engines burn less fuel than a petrol engine. Diesel engines convert more than Thirty percent of fuel energy into mechanical energy, while gasoline engines average Twenty five percent efficiency. Fuel efficiency for diesel engines remain constant even with partial loads of voltage. Diesel engine fuel is injected before the piston power stroke, which can result in only partially complete combustion and fuel waste.



Turbine and petrol engines use more fuel in proportion to partial power output.

Performance Disadvantages

Diesel engines do not possess a butterfly valve at the engine inlet, which closes during idling in gasoline engines. This results in less incoming air, which reduces idle engine efficiency.
