Take Away The Gm Ignition Lock

Remove the ignition lock on your GM vehicle yourself to save period and banknote.


Regular Motors is a manufacturer of many vehivle brands including Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac. GM uses companion parts in all vehicles, including the ignition lock. Removing and replacing the ignition lock is done when you contact bother starting your vehicle, or whether it becomes jammed. Remove the nut in the center holding the steering wheel to the steering shaft with an adjustable wrench.3. Thread two bolts through the universal steering wheel puller and into the two slots on either side of the steering shaft. Use an adjustable wrench to turn the center bolt on the universal steering wheel puller clockwise until the steering wheel lifts off the steering shaft.



Lift the steering wheel horn pad out and disconnect the wiring leads. Pull them straight out.

Instructions

1. Remove the screws on the back of the steering turn spokes with a Phillips head screwdriver.



4. Remove the two screws from the white plastic turn signal mechanism with a Phillips head screwdriver. Lift the turn mechanism to reveal the ignition lock retainer screw.


5. Remove the ignition lock retainer screw with a Phillips head screwdriver. Pull the ignition lock straight out of the steering column.
