Repair Your Bathroom Fan Motor

Instructions


1. Shut off the power to the bathroom fan circuit at the main power panel. Remove the motor cover using a screwdriver or socket wrench.


Remove the motor. Inspect it for discoloration which is a sign of overheating.3. Contact the manufacturer and purchase a replacement motor.2. Unscrew the mounting bolts holding the motor in place. Unscrew the plastic twist caps holding the motor wiring to the existing house wiring.


Mount the motor back in to position and secure it with mounting screws. Reconnect the black wire of the fan back to the black wire splice in the electrical box. Reconnect the white wire also. Wire cutters and wire strippers can be used to prep the end of the wires if the ends are not prepped by the manufacturer


4. Reinstall the fan cover and turn the power back on back on. Test the fan.
