The Shelby Gt350 Engine Specifications

Carroll Shelby and Protection Iacocca teamed up to fabricate a vehicle to compete with Chevrolet's Corvette. The consequence was the Shelby Mustang. Ford produced vehicles to be shipped to Shelby America, without rear seats and no hood, for modifications and final assembly. Shelby utilized a fiberglass hood, stripped off all the Mustang emblems and the Shelby headers exited the exhaust in front of the rear wheels. The Two thousand six special-edition Shelby GT-H was manufactured to pay respect to the first Shelby GT350H produced in 1966. Approximately Five hundred units were built for Hertz with a 4.6L power-pack Three hundred horsepower V-8 connected to a five-speed automatic.

The One thousand nine hundred seventy Shelby was a vehicle that did not sell in 1969. The VIN was changed and the vehicle was retitled as 1970. The only change was the chin front spoiler being lowered and two black stripes on the hood. The standard engine was the Three hundred two CID, with Two hundred fifty horsepower, with the optional Windsor Three hundred fifty one CID at Two hundred ninety horsepower.

Thus, the One thousand nine hundred sixty five Shelby Mustang was born.

1965-69

The first Shelby Mustang in One thousand nine hundred sixty five was equipped with a Two hundred eighty nine CID (cubic inch displacement) engine with a four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum manifold that yielded Three hundred six horsepower at a 10.5:1 compression ratio. The GT350 stayed with this same engine until 1968, when it was increased to Three hundred two CID, but yielded only Two hundred fifty horsepower.

The Two thousand eleven Ford Shelby GT350 will be equipped with a 5.0L supercharged, dual-overhead cam, 32-valve V-8 that produces Five hundred fifty horsepower and 490-ft-lb. of torque. The engine will be connected to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
