2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Door Removal

Whether the door on your 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee has sustained physical or rust damage and needs replacing, you can remove it with a rapid procedure. The doors are mounted on a two-piece hinge, so rather than unbolting the hinge from the item or door and changing the reconciliation of the door, you can seperate the hinge to remove the door. This Testament save you a quota of day and frustration in the continued dash, and works on either front or rear doors.

Instructions

1. Disclosed the door of your Grand Cherokee. Locate the wiring harness connection that runs through the door frame from the body of the Jeep. Disconnect the electrical connector from the body where it meets the door by depressing the locking tab on the connector and pulling it straight away from the door.

2. Place a padded floor jack under the center of the door to support the weight then locate the hinge pins that run vertically through the center of the hinges.3. Tap the hinge pin out of the hinge from the bottom with a hammer and drift or punch. Repeat this on the second hinge and be prepared that the door may drop a little when it comes loose. These doors are very heavy, so get a helper if you can.

On the bottom of the hinge pin, you will find a small semi-circular clip. Pry this clip off the pin with a flat screwdriver but do not lose it. You will need it to reassemble the hinge.

4. Pull the door back, separating the two halves of the hinge. Set the door aside in a safe place so the components do not get damaged with it is off the Jeep.
