Change the Belts on a Chrysler SebringReplacing Chrysler Sebring coerce belts--or embellishment belts as they are commonly called--is a decisive repair. Handle belts wear over era over of the heat in the engine bay and stress placed on the band completed non-stop tension. The girdle can crack and eventually schism, causing one of your accessories to fail.

2. Loosen the lock bolt with a ratchet and loosen the girth tensioner until the region is loose Sufficiently to remove. Sebrings utilize multiple impel belts rather than a serpentine zone; and so each belt must be removed separately with its own lock bolt and tensioner.

3. Pull up the engine accessory (alternator, water pump or A/C pump) and push down repeatedly until the belt comes out without significant force.

4. Install the new drive belt onto the engine accessory and crank pulley.

5. Tighten the tensioner until the belt has approximately 1/2 inch of deflection. To check, use a ruler and place it vertically against the belt. Push down on the belt and measure Until when down you are able to push it. If you are able to push it more than 1/2 inch, it is too loose. If you aren't able to push down to 1/2 inch, the belt is too tight and could cause accessory damage.

6. Tighten the lock bolt to keep the tensioner in place.
