The door locking meeting of the One thousand nine hundred ninety six Chevrolet Camaro is housed within the door itself. Access to the door locking meeting requires the Emigration of the Camaro's interior door trim which is held in compass by a series of bolts. Once the trim is removed, you can disconnect and unbolt the door locking mechanism and moderate it with a fashionable one. Properly functioning door locks are critical to the security of your vehicle.
Instructions
1. Unfastened the hood of your Camaro. Applicability a socket wrench to disconnect the battery's ground cable.
2. Operate a Phillips purpose screwdriver to remove the screws securing the arm rest to the door. Pry the armrest off with a slotted screwdriver.
3. Remove the screws along the line of the door with the Phillips attitude screwdriver. Pry the interior door panel off of the door with the slotted screwdriver.
4. Remove the four bolts securing the door locking mechanism to the door. The door locking mechanism consists of the actual lock, the lock cylinder and the door handle.6. Reattach the armrest and reconnect the ground terminal to the battery.
Remove the clips securing all of the components to the door with the slotted screwdriver and remove them from the door.5. Mount the replacement door locking mechanism to the door and secure all of the clips and bolts. Reattach the interior door panel and its screws.
